Since starting therapy last year I have been dealing with panic attacks that are followed by horrible depression. I want t go back to feeling nothing. I would rather not feel happiness if I could also stop feeling this .

Sometimes therapy dredges stuff up. I think it's important to deal with it rather than burying it though.

Are you taking any medication? Anti-depressants can help numb you a bit.

I'm not on meds. I have considered them but I would probably be non compliant. If I knew it would stop my emotions I be on board.

((((Everyday12)))) I'm sorry you're struggling. I don't think feeling numb is the right solution. Instead, I think you should develop some coping skills for these panic attacks you're having. Are you working with your therapist about this?
Thanks for this!

Feelings mean you are alive. Go with them, deal with them.

This feeling doesnt seem right. I don't think this is the appropriate feeling for the situation. I feel like my mind is overvreacting.

Sometimes feelings feel like an overreaction when in fact there's other buried feelings that the here and now attach themselves to. If it feels amped up it's probably because whatever it is that is causing the feeling is rooted in other experiences. It's like peeling layers of an onion.

Utilizing the correct antidepressant for you will help you feel better not numb.

Over reacting indicates anxiety. Anxiety often does not relate to current time, but relates to what happened in your past.
