You know, those thoughts you just can't let go. When somebody says something arrogant, insulting or demeaning to me, I think about it on a loop for days or even weeks and nothing seems to work when I try to turn my attention to something else. How do you manage that kind of thought?

My go-to practice for this sort of thing is "compassionate abiding". Here's a link to a description of the practice just in case you're not familiar with it:

And 3 Steps to Stop It ![]() ![]() ![]() |

((((fallaximago)))) I'm sorry you're struggling. I can relate. I actually have the same issue... some thoughts are stuck in my head over and over again... it's madness

What gets to me is not so much what other people say as guilt over things I have said or done. I feel guilty pretty much constantly over little things.

That happens to me as well. I lose my temper very quickly and then I feel horribly sorry. It's hell.

I get paronoyed easily, and this leads to thoughts that arn't even true
like for example, I might think I overhear 2 people talking about me and saying how much they hate me, but in reality they're not even talking about me- they are talking about someone else it's so hard to shake, and I've been known, on ocasions, to actually aproach these people and say something like what's that?. you think I'm what ever the context is? they'd be like um, we never said that and I'd be like.. well, uh, if you did you wouldn't admit it, of course you did |

Those thoughts show that you mind is still processing the experience. Just let it run out of gas on its own accord.

You might be right. I'm just annoyed by how long it takes them to disappear. I haven't been able to quantify just how long those thoughts stay in my head, but when they're gone and I suddenly remember them I don't feel as bad anymore.

I agree. I also hate when people look at you, smile in a conspiratorial way and then whisper. It drives me crazy.
