What can be on someone’s head, and mainly in his heart, when this person dares to give his first baby daughter in adoption to his godfather and uncle?
A couple of more details. This godfather was the “golden” guy in the family. He was a successful entrepreneur so this baby girl wasn’t gonna lack “anything”.
His wife couldn’t have kids so he made this proposal.
It didn’t happen in a poor country, neither within a poor family with a bunch of kids to rise. The first baby. And it didn’t happen in an excessively remote past.
Why? What happened with this father?

I don't think anyone can answer this question except the father (and the mother as, I assume it was a mutual decision).
Thanks for this!

He can’t answer to this question anymore and his daughter was always afraid of bringing out this topic.
Her mother was a mother and rejected the possibility of any adoption. She went out with her daughter.
I guess there’s a reason even for the more understandable acts from any person.

I wanted to correct a couple of mistakes on my previous message.

I wanted to mean that I guess there must be a reason even behind the less understandable acts from a person.

I know people give their children to adoption when they know they cannot give them the care they deserve, but it seems this isn't the case from what you said. Maybe the father loves his brother, and thought his daughter would be close to him at the same time. Have the daughter had a good life with her godfather/uncle, and she was happy as a child?
Thanks for this!

People give children up for adoption for various reasons. Why do you need to know?
Thanks for this!

Yes, specially in the past when contraceptives weren’t so known or available.
I can understand this. The only reason I can’t stand and do reject is the possibility to use a kid as a mean to get other things for one own benefit, whatever nature these benefits may have: material or psychological.
