So, on Monday I had those obsessive checking with my maths teacher. It's not like me to keep on checking my results but here I am I did it. Now I understand why the anxiety which seemed to have come out of nowhere why it happened. Well today I woke up at 5am with cramps I knew this ment my period, so I went to pee and take panadol. My question is I always notice I get the most anxiety just days before my period and I'm just wondering if there's away to reduce it? Hmmm. I'm going to my psychiatrist I might mention to him the intense anxiety I get days before my period. Also my period always hurt especially on the first day. It's always been this way Im starting to think it's not normal. Well anyway I've been tested for endometriosis and PCOS I have neither. Even though my doctor write in my notes possible PCOS?. Maybe I'm overthinking it but I'm sick of the intense anxiety I get days before my period. I've been having periods since 11years 354 days old. I should be used to it no. No I still get bad pain and intense anxiety before periods

I try to exercise regularly to ward off mood issues that come with my period. It helps some. Raspberry tea can help with cramps if you drink it before you get your period. Pain killers help with the pain.

In my experience and opinion, its not abnormal to get painful cramps the first day of your period. Its annoying and painful, but it doesn't necessarily mean you have any extra diagnosis like pcos. I'm not a doctor of course and don't know if you have it or not. Just voicing my own experience.

Hang in there.

I'm no expert because every woman's experience is different. The problems your close female relatives had (mother, sister, aunt) may not manifest themselves in you. The anxiety you feel could relate to a trigger based on, for example, someone calling it "the curse".

My suggestion is to relax. Get a warming pad (one you can heat in microwave) and place on your tummy. I used Oil of Evening Primrose capsules, taken regularly one/day; don't work for everyone but worth a try. Gentle exercise; you probably don't feel like doing a 5K run anyway!

Have heard of women using meditation to relax/relieve anxiety. Take the painkillers too.

I find reminding myself 'oh yeah, you are having these thoughts due to PMS,' helps. It reminds me that during other times, I wouldn't be thinking that way. I tend to get paranoid and angry. I agree with the others that cramps aren't necessarily a sign that there is something wrong but it doesn't hurt to mention it.
Thanks for this!

I do this too. It helps.
