Whenever I am under extreme stress, mainly when I run errands, my psychotic symptoms exacerbate. Sometimes I wonder if I should just avoid running errands altogether, seeing how it triggers my psychosis. Help?

Do you know what’s causing the stress? Like is it the driving part? Is it being inside of the store? Is it all the sounds you hear?
If you can pinpoint what the triggers are you may be able to find coping skills for each one. Personally, I prefer to wear headphones with relaxing music when I go to the store this way I know people will likely not talk to me and I can’t hear all the sounds around me as I have sensory issues with sounds of glass clanking, carts squeeking, and people chattering. I also don’t like to drive so I prefer public transportation or get a ride from a family member. Sometimes I do have to drive though and I’ll put on the relaxing music in the car and go at time when there is less traffic in the road. That’s just a couple examples of coping. I hope you’re able to find some coping skills too I know it’s very tough to be so stressed it causes psychosis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
