Lately, I've been crying like never before.

This morning, in making travel arrangements for a new job, one thing came up after another. People at the work I'm still at... well... some, not all... are being jerks.

Earlier in the day, I felt like my world was crashing down. I really felt like throwing in the towel.

Then, this evening, I am fine. And thinking that I am really in a very good place compared to many other people out there.

What in the world... is wrong with me? Anyone else go through these phases where there does not seem to be a solution or cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel and then, some times goes by, I cry some more, and then I realize it's not that bad and it may all turn out just fine in the end?

I think I may be going crazy... Any tips on how to avoid the downs? The highs aren't all that euphoric, but the downs... wow... I feel helpless.

Faith that things will improve.... faith and a positive outlook are what help me get through those down times and phases. Also, it helps me to know that these down phases are just temporary and will pass. I try to distract myself with positive activities and endeavors during those moments so that I can feel better and get some relief from any pain or negative emotions I experience. Like, I will switch gears and put on a happy and upbeat song, or I will treat myself to something affordable and small. Or I will call a close friend or family member to talk it out. There's loads of things you can do to help yourself cope and manage during those times... you just have to reach into your coping skills toolbox and pull out whatever is going to help you the most at that time, whatever it may be. Cleaning, walking/exercising, reading, watching movies, journaling, going for a drive, listening to happy songs, or talking to a friend, to name a few. But my faith and positive outlook are what carry me through the most.

It sounds like you’re overwhelmed by a few things, and from your other posts about your breakup this is totally understandable. I’m glad you felt better and the mood lifted. Be kind to yourself and remind yourself that all things pass is all I can say.
