People often say meditation but that’s never worked effectively for me.

I’m going to try cooking this afternoon because often the focus on that seems to help.

Mantra meditation, prayer. Reading sometimes.

I've been baking a bit this week since my dad died but it's kind of stressful, yesterday the electric mixer stopped working and I ended up crying so...

Nature because I'm unplugged then but I don't get out much these days tbh.

Strength training.

Meditation has always done the opposite of ground me. Maybe I've never practiced it enough. I don't know. I always hallucinate worse when I do it. Anyways...

-Being in the woods, the mountains, at a lake, a pond, a swamp, somewhere in nature.
-Physical activity i.e. running, hiking, mtn biking, yoga, rock climbing, snowshoeing, (in the past) skiing,
-Playing piano/guitar/harmonica/trombone
-I'm a big scents person so candles/essential oils/stuff like boiling apples and cinnamon or bringing in some sappy pine cones.

Art, hobbies, and sports. Those touch all the areas of expression that motivate me.

Great question and some good replies. I've been asking myself a similar question. I haven't really stuck with meditation although I tried it again (once) recently. I haven't persisted with it enough to be sure if it would help. I'll check in somewhere if I find one I like which helps consistently.

Reading (sometimes), prayer, music, having some space (emotional and physical), my new pj's (two sizes too large but a cute design)

(I used to usually display old horrible pjs' and very old other clothes (if I had to) due to the poverty mentality my parents beat into me ) Papa bear doesn't like the Next bill this month though (for years I spent literally nothing on clothes (just displayed a few old sacks and kept getting horrible looks when I went out ) as I felt so undeserving and Papa Bear isn't interested in clothes at all, or he wasn't). I also like art, although I'm not very ''good'' at it.

Woods and trees
Bears
Playing piano
