Hey everyone,
I came wandering into PC for a couple of reasons. One is to share the method that worked the best for me! So here is the general story: I learned, being in the States for two months at the Option Institute in Massechussets, that there are two ways to view the world and human beings: as "stimulus -> response organisms" or as "stimulus -> belief -> response critters". I think most of you view the world as stimulus -> response. E.g. when your husband comes home late after going to a bar, while you were waiting for him all night, you feel that "he hurt your feelings". Here's my concept: stimulus -> belief -> response! Your hubbie comes home late from the bar (fact statement, stimulus). You think that doing so is a sign of not loving you enough (belief). You get angry with him and tell him he hurt your feelings (response). By saying that the belief created the response, I say: you choose your own response! You are in charge of your emotions and feelings, ergo: YOU CAN CHOOSE HAPPINESS OR UNHAPPINESS EVERYDAY! I followed this program: Happiness Option Weekend (look it up on youtube!) and started realising that this world-view works best for me. I hope you guys are willing to look into it (also, watch the testimonials in the related video) and discuss it with me! Love, Freek |

Looks pricey. Glad it helped though. I don't think I have that much control over my feelings. I can understand trying to control your actions despite your feelings, but not controlling your feelings despite your thoughts/beliefs (might be possible for some though I guess). |

I definitely don't have that kind of control over my emotions right now. I am very glad you found something that works for you.
