I need to know what this is and what is causing it. I get very sick when I am around other people. The more people I am around the sicker I get. Like going to the store, post-office, doctors office or wherever. If there is one person next to me in line I am very nerves. If there are 5 or more people around me I have to leave the area. If there are a lot of people around I have to leave the build. Sometime I get so sick I have to leave the building and throw up. What is causing this? How can I stop it? I only do this when my depression is at it's worst. Is it all depression? is it anxiety or something else?
Why this is weird to me. I used to own my own retail store and I love people, everyone - customers, employees, friends, family I just love people in general. So why has this happened to me? I also have a hard time reading my mail or talking to people on the phone, what is happening to me? I am on medications and I do have doctors. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Probably is anxiety. Depression does tend to make someone pull in and not want to see anyone. sometimes when I am anxious I also throw up. Take care

Could be a Social Phobia

Here is some reading on the topic.
http://www.athealth.com/Consumer/dis...ialPhobia.html

If you have a therapist, please let that person know of you phobia about public places and being around people, so you can be diagnosed. If you don't have a therapist you should probably find one.

I agree with the others that it sounds like anxiety. Take care of yourself.

*agrees* I hope your doctors can help with it, I have experience something similar for a short time... part of it was med induced... but it's horribly debilitating.

I have had to leave a full grocery cart at the store many times because the entire time I was there I just felt so anxious....How I hold down a fulltime job..No clue...Frequently I have to spend time in the bathroom getting myself together...Very bad feeling!!!

Very sorry to hear this, i do understand. I was in a bank with one person in line ahead of me. Before I could get up to the counter the place filled up with people. I had to go - I went outside and throw up. I couldn't go back in. How sad I was. I wish you luck. Have you tried any medications? Thanks, Hugs for your day.

For what it is worth, it sounds like you have some version of agoraphobia. I used to have an ultra-advanced case of it. I took anti-depressants and did talk therapy for years, with really no impact. Then, I did "behavioral therapy" for about 7 weeks (not very thoroughly I might ad as I was/am still clinically depressed). I cleared up the agoraphobia completely however in very short period of time. It turns out that behavioral therapy is overall VERY EFFECTIVE for this particular problem. Naturally, your condition may be quite different, but I would very much encourage you to research this diagnosis/remedy as being possible very helpful. For me, it had gotten so bad that I almost completely stopped leaving the house for about 10 weeks. You would think that getting over something like that life would seem all good, but alas...
I wish you the best, tell us how it goes.

I can always tell the depression is bad because I get the same way...only I don't throw up. I also get panic attacks over having to make phone calls. Not when I am at work, but when I am at home. And when the phone RINGS I get all panicky and hide.

Anxiety Looking for an answer..... Please help..... I get it everytime I'm
around people . I get impatient sometimes

too . I've never thrown up though . I get

paranoid that everyone knows I'm anxious.

I take meds and they help a bit ......

I think you have to learn how to cope

with Anxiety .....with breathing , telling

yourself it's only anxiety , I'll be OK

TECHNIQUES ..........GOOD LUCK
