Sorry you are having these side affects.

Happy pills - sorry but that is funny to me as that is what I call my medications and I have never heard anyone else call them that. I am not laughing at you at all, just thought I would share the chuckle you gave me.
If your medication is giving you these horrible side affects can you ask a local doctor or someone in your therapist's office for advice? Not sure what the therapist told you to expect for side affects. Hugs for your day.

I am on 40 mg Prozac; doing well on the dose; been on Prozac for about two months. You may need to give it time. I wish you the best!

Bananas! Good to hear from you.

So, you're now on Prozac. I'm sure everyone has or will tell you it takes time for antidepressants to achieve their desired effects. Everything you posted above is important: the way you feel, the physical effects, the mental and emotional effects, how it affects your sleep, how your food tastes, everything. The doctors need to know these things and how they change or don't change over time.

Be brave. Observe yourself. Take things slowly and gently. And don't stress yourself over advice-givers, including me.

i used happy pills for a while when i was younger, was dangerous because i was TOO young for almost any pills back then...-was 5-13- had the same effects on me, only worse, i'd pass out randomly and have to go for stitches and so...dropped the pills as soon as i was old enough to think, still live with the effects though...

I would say this is a side effect. I take a different anti-depressant, and my stomach was upset for a few days. I hope that you are eating. If your not eating then the dizziness can come from that. Try drinking some orange juice, and some milk. The other side effect is what I call feeling like your high. I told my PDOC this, and she told me that it would go away, and it did. Another thing that helped me was taking the meds before I went to sleep. I know it is very hard right now, but you will feel better soon just hang in there.
happy pills..

Maybe it would be helpful to start a daily journal of your symptoms regarding this new med and then share it with your T when he/she returns?

But if things get unbearable, you can always visit the ER.

Best of luck!!

I tried Prozac. Wrong med for me because of side effects. Gave it a month or two and decided it wasn't worth it. Give it some time and if things get worse or stay the same, I'd say try a new med. Check in with a doc if you have to while T is away.

berries is right - it would be good to keep a log of what's going on.

My experience with the generic of prozac was not a good one, please don't be afraid to go to your doctor asap if these effects worsen. you may need to find other meds. Or it might be a passing side effect. Don't be afraid to voice your feelings and thoughts on the matter.

Also is there any other T you can see while yours is away? It is especially important if you're trying meds. Sending hugs, please let us know how you're doing
