it is so hard to have courage to say what we feel when lessons from our past have taught us that 'silence is golden' .. in some cases that may be true and in others, it purely is not... as a child i learned to be seen and not heard but i had a real difficult time transitioning into my adult self and knowing when it was ok to speak from then on... at mid life ive decided that if i am not old enough yet to have an opinion then i never will be... that is not to say that my opinions are always correct but i have learned that in a safe environment there are people who are willing to listen and respond to my statements.. the process of speaking wth others, asking for clarification, has an ability to expose misunderstandings and for new understandings to develop.. im sorry you do not yet feel safe enough to say what you think or feel but dont give up hoping, loving or trying, in time it will come
