First off, hopefully this is good news: I got my computer and am back in a place with internet! So I should be around a bit more often

I'm very glad to be able to post without looking over my shoulder and to be able to check emails at will!!!

The not so good news is that I'm not doing 100% (big shocker )
I'm really stressed right now. Having my bf back is GREAT but it's also got its challenges. I'm having REAL trouble dealing with his two cats - who have already gotten around to chewing my very expensive cello case and the chords of my brand new computer WHILE I was using them. I have other issues with the kitties so just having them in my living space provides lots of stress.

I'm really SAD SAD SAD about that too, I feel guilty and horrible and feel I'm a horrible person because of it, but that's the way it is.

I'm nervous and happy at the same time about my new job *I start on Monday* and I'm really nervous about continuing cello, because now that the bf is home it's REALLY hard to practice, and I'll have to go somewhere other than home to practice, which again is difficult because even going to the main building of the school that won't let me back in atm is a bit traumatic.

Sorry this was long-winded, but that's kinda where I'm at.
Sending loads of hugs to everyone, we all need it!

You should be able to buy a fairly cheap, nontoxic spray (at any pet store) that will discourage kitties from chewing on your things. Sounds like they may be anxious, too, so you might try paying attention to them, reassuring them.
Thanks for this!

I think my boyfriend has tried some type of spray, but they ignore it.

Attention is definitely a needed factor - right now I really am not emotionally able to accept them so it's up to the bf... they seem to be an endless black hole neededing attention o.o
Thank you for the advice seabirdanne - I'll especially try to make sure they get enough attention, even if it's not me that's providing it.

Hi, Turquoisesea! Glad to have you back. I don't have cats, but here are a few ideas regarding your problem. Little things can have effects out of all proportion to their size.

Wishing you the very best of success with your work and practice!

Sounds like you're dealing with a whole bunch of changes all at once. No wonder you're stressed! I hope everything works out okay, and I'm glad that we'll be able to hear more from you now that you've got your computer.

So happy you are 100% back on PC.

So sorry not 100% otherwise.

But I have faith that you will work out all the kinks soon.

Good and bad news =) ON YOUR FIRST DAY at your new job!!!

Hi Turquoise, good to hear from you. You feel guilty about having issues with the cats??? You deserve to have needs!

How did the job go?

Why can't you practice at home if your bf is there??

I had my orientation for job yesterday, and my first training shift today. I'm not passing judgment on it yet - there were some things I liked, and some things I did NOT. However, I think the best thing is I made it there, stayed the whole shift, and tried as best I could.

My bf is great =D

It's just for practicing I need more concentration than is possible with 2 cats running around and even bf needs to breathe... or go accross the apartment to pick up something... or ... XD
It's also just hard for me to practice with "someone listening", in general.
So it really comes down to concentration = sometimes I can handle the distraction, sometimes I can't... but I need stability right now, so it's hard.

As far as the guilty feelings of that cats, I think you're right. It's become important because I'm getting sick and need sleep to get better *can't get to sleep with the cats waking me up too soon*. I'm trying to work on that, my bf brought their little kennels up and put them in for the past 2 nights, and the sleep has been much better. However, it's only a temporary solution, but having that as an option has helped so much. I guess, despite my needs it's more that I feel I'm impeding another creatures needs, which feels wrong regardless of the reason.

Thanks for asking, fuzzy, and sorry it's so long, I tend to ramble

Anyone's rights stop when they impede on another's and these cats are impeding on you. I am glad that you 2 are working on this and that you put them in the cages so that you can sleep.

I understand now about practicing/concentration......
