Hi, Friends! It's not bad enough that my old pdoc - who was excellent - is going to be gone in a few days, moving on to a larger city. But his replacement is a nurse practicioner that I worked with at the nearby state psychiatric hospital for 17 years! And she's younger than me. Do I enter with a cane, hat and Charlie Chaplin walk? No, then she'd revamp my meds - which will probably happen anyway. And here I thought I was at least stable in my deep depression. Who expected this. Maybe I could appear with a sack over my head and make her guess who - no she would have my chart - dress in ostrich costume - no . . . I know, I'll just tell her to get on with the ECT and get it over with. What could be worse? AArrrrrrrgggghhhh! billieJ
Thanks for this!

I hear your distress, (((((billieJ))))). I would probably be a bit uncomfortable in that situation, as well. But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do to take care of yourself. Having worked with her for so long, you know whether or not she's professional enough to do her job without judging you (Yes? No?). Hopefully, instead of being embarrassed about her "knowing about you," you'll find her to be even more understanding and compassionate towards you because of your long work relationship. Please let us know how the first encounter goes. Take some hugs along for comfort.

try to walk on steady legs with your head held high, hun! she will most likely remember you as the sweet caring and intelligent person you are. it's not an ideal situation and it would certainly make me feel nervous... but you can do it... I have faith in you.
