The head honcho at work wants me to take the MMPI as a fitness-for-duty evaluation. I've done some research on this but was wondering if anybody has taken the inventory themselves.

I've done it 3 times. They just ask the same questions different ways to make sure you are telling the truth. Be honest!

It stands for the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. Guess since I live in the state is why it is so popular here...LOL

It's popular everywhere, but I'm concerned about how they want to use it. No test is to be used as a sole measure of whether or not someone can work, or as diagnostic in and of itself, or to make any kind of major decisions about someone's life. The MMPI is to be used as part of a comprehensive psychological evaluation, and must be interpreted by a qualified psychologist, in the proper context. I doubt that your employer has the right to information such as your MMPI scores, anyway. If your therapist, doctor, or other professional treating you assesses that you are ready to go back to work, I would have an issue with the employer requiring additional testing.

I took it. It was long but ok. They had my therapist read the results for me. I dont think it was an accurate test. Some of it was good but other parts seemed to be way off. Good luck
