Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me figure this out.
I have been suffering from depression for about 5 years now. Over the years I've noticed it's a very clear cycle. It's quite obvious that it hits me in the fall/winter months, so I always considered it to be Seasonal Affective Disorder. But at the same time, the depression really hits hard in the transition into Summer when the weather changes. So I was wondering... if it's not SAD, is it possible that my body is just extremely sensitive to the weather changes in general? Is there a name for this? Thank you ![]() |

The Mayo Clinic has this to say:
Seasonal affective disorder (also called SAD) is a type of depression that occurs at the same time every year. If you're like most people with seasonal affective disorder, your symptoms start in the fall and may continue into the winter months, sapping your energy and making you feel moody. Less often, seasonal affective disorder causes depression in the spring or early summer. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/sea...sorder/DS00195 Good luck. |
