I am depressed at one point, irritable the next and in a state of euphoria the next. These all happen together too. I have been diagnosed as bipolar and a borderline personality disorder, could this be the cause? Can anyone explain this?

I am no expert on bipolar, I am a garden variety depressed person. However, the mood swings are definately a part of your illness. If you are not under the treatment of a physician, I highly reccomend that you seek treatment. There are meds that can help with the mood swings, etc. Also, do a little research on your diagnosis. Knowledge is empowering. there is alot of good info right here at PC. Good luck and keep posting! Tonih

Yes this could be the cause and you should speak with your doctor to find out if your meds need adjusting. You can also try mindfulness which is being aware of yourself and living in the moment. You can also do deep breathing exercises to keep you calm and more stable. Good luck

Yes, bipolar, mixed, would appear to account for your symptoms, and bpd is certainly an emotional roller coaster as well. I agree with the above that you should seek treatment/med change. Bipolar often requires more frequent med changes than other diagnoses due to the changeability of that condition. You can find good information here in the various postings and in the sites named at top, but you must also seek professional dx and treatment. A friend ~ billieJ
