And this makes me depressed. . .
I haven't done my taxes in a couple of years . . . I wasn't working in that time, but I still have to do my returns. This isn't the first time I haven't done my taxes in a while. The last time I did my taxes I hadn't done them in a couple of years, either. It's something I avoid and it's making me depressed. I think I avoid it cos I don't want to face 'reality'. It's also a task that makes me anxious, and I have to track down papers, etc. . . I don't know, it just makes me nervous I guess. Anyone have any tips? |

Taxes make me crazy. I am in over my head trying to figure out what the terms mean but an accountant friend has helped me so that I sort of understand it. No, who am I kidding? I still don't understand it but at least the fog is less heavy than it was. I am filling out my taxes and was doing fairly well but wasn't sure about two items and the booklet didn't explain it very thoroughly so I am going to call the IRS and ask them what is means.
Oh yeah, I was going to do that, wasn't I? But here I sit glued to the internet... Good luck on yours

As someone who did tax returns for others last year. My main advice is either do them yourself or else go to AARP (library etc. or IRS to get help. The tax services will rip you off. They charge way too much.
Good Luck
