Pristiq, but, mind you, he claims he hasn't been depressed. What do you do about an acquaintance who has literally been a mummy for six months due to extreme depression, responds to the antidepressant, but refuses to think he has a mental health issue even though he visits a psychiatrist twice a month. I guess I can just let it go and allow him to think what he wants as long as his life is working. Once he goes off the antidepressant as he has done before, it is back in the hole, but, he doesn't have a depression issue, he says!!! It is difficult to be responsive to someone like this.

Uh...marvel at the human mind's capacity for self-delusion?

Being an "acquaintance," this seems best.

Is this fellow approachable? Any possibility of throwing a few non-threatening questions his way regarding what he thinks is going on (if it's not a mental health issue, what is it - according to him)?

Special kudos to you, Phoenix47baby, for your concern for this sufferer.
