So, I have been diagnosed with depression and am on meds for it. Since before I started taking the meds, I have been, by and large, depressed. I mean, you know... either sleeping too much or not at all. Having a significantly decreased appetite. Feeling slightly suicidal, etc. You know, just generally unhappy. But sometimes, I get into these, like... jittery/ hyper moods. It's not bi-polar because they really only last for a few hours. But during these things, I'm like, all over the place. Really hyper. I feel awesome about myself. I'm witty, etc. but I can't really focus on anything for too long and I move my legs a lot. I know that it's not "normal" and also that it's not bi-polar. I was wondering if other people suffering from depression experience this or if it's something else.
(Sorry if this post is kind of hard to follow-- I'm posting it because I am currently in one of said hyper/ jittery moods.) ![]() |

In my opinion, I think it could be a symptom of depression. Once in awhile I get into hyper moods as well (where I am extremely happy) and then it eventually goes away and I'm 'normal'. I get the leg thing as well, but not sure if that is restless leg syndrome or what. But when I get that, I have to get up and walk around. Once I do that for 5 minutes or so...It goes away.

I had those when I was on antidepressants and I heard of other people getting euphoric every now and then because of the meds. Was this happening to you before you were put on your meds?

That happens to me, and I'm pretty sure it has to do with my meds. I get really jittery and hyper and I feel euphoric for a few hours, like nothing can touch me and absolutely nothing is wrong. My whole body can get kind of twitchy and restless, which is especially bad if I'm trying to get to sleep. So you're not alone in those symptoms.

From all the doctors I went to I would say it could be anxiety. I have been diagnosed schizoaffective, and bipolar II along with depression and some anxiety bull ****. I never felt really depressed until taking the medicine. Before I just felt mad all the time and would get very angry over small things.
