I'm already on Pristiq, Lamictal and liothyroxine, but still feel depressed. They help, but do I have to accept this level of depression? I have tried so many medications and therapies. I really don't want to go on this way!

Sometimes when asked what I do, I reply, "Medical experiment." The truth, though, is that we're the employers and they (the doctors and therapists) are our employees. Give them truthful feedback - "These meds, these therapies are not working for me." And if you're desperate, tell them that, too.

Of course, this "advice" comes from one who tends to melt in the presence of any type of authority. It's not easy for me to muster the psychic mettle to tell doctors and caretakers they're efforts are less-than-successful. I don't know if you have any challenge like that. If desperation overcomes inhibitions, then it may be good, useful desperation.

Like Rohag said. They are employees, not bosses, and we pay them for their expertise. who cares if they get irritated or not? you are the one suffering. excuse the causticness. One of those moments. Huggs dear, hope it goes better!

You are both so right. For me its not my reaction to authority, or the great educated doctor, but I guess I have gotten tired of trying new things, being disappointed when they don't work, dealing with new side effects. But, on the other hand, if I need more relief, I guess I must keep trying. Thanks for the peptalk.
