Please dont say to get off this site and start revising! (being cruel to kind, etc).

Basically I'm in my final year at uni. And I have one exam tomorrow, and another the day after. I'm not really ready and I dont really care.

Im sure I will when Im in the exam room and unsure what exactly to write! And I probably will feel bad when my results come back. Im confident about the 3rd exam because I like numbers (Financial Management) and so that should be alright, even though I haven't revised for it yet.

But I just dont care. I purposefully stopped taking my meds about a week ago and just restarted today (incase thats why my motivation isnt so good).

I dont know what to gain by posting here and why I'm not revising, and what will make me revise (probably threats to my life!). Perhaps just some perspective (also the 'its final hurdle' comment wont really help). Thanks for reading and sorry for the negatively. Ta,

Peter

Its probably not such a good idea to support my bad attitude but it certainly made me feel better possum220. Thanks. Byzantine, I hope to make up for these exams by doing really well in the Financial Management exam. I dont why but as soon as Im on my laptop I can leave for the REST of the day. Im obsessed. I try not let it all get me down but other people may not look at me so well if I do badly (friends and family). Though I know its not the end of the world. Oh well. Time will tell.....

I hope you managed to overcome your disinterest and revise a little bit--even just skimming the night before the exam. Cramming won't get you anywhere and stressing will make the time you spend studying very unproductive.

My best advice is to swallow up your doubts and get the exams over with. Once they're done you've accomplished something and it may give you enough motivation to do something for yourself as a reward.

It's your life and you have all the time you want and need. My first degree, I changed my major in my senior year after almost flunking out; didn't get my "proper" (second) degree until 35 years later. Doing poorly now is today's heartache and may/may not change your life; took me another 20 years after I graduated the first time to realize how to care about my schoolwork.

Hi Peter,

I just finished my exams last week and I know what you're going through. Revision period is AWFUL. I think it's especially hard on those of us who struggle with depression. What helped for me was planning what I was going to do right after the exam, like making a coffee date or deciding to watch a specific movie or even just taking a much-needed nap. It helps to reward yourself for all the hard work you're doing, I think. If you're worried about what people will think about your grades, remember that you're under no obligation to tell them. I tend to come up with a lot of vague comments like "Oh, it was okay, I'm just glad it's over" or "I'd really rather talk about something unrelated to school, I've been in revision world too long!"

Good luck on your exams.

I think what I need is support. I know I can do it I just need someone who can give me support. I think if its just me Im not motivated but revising for someone else is a motivator to revise for my benefit. It gives me a reason to revise. ????

Are you someone? If you were supporting someone else, what would you tell them? What is your plan to get motivated? Post it here when you have one. Check in twice a day with a progress report.

Why do you think someone else should have to give you a reason? You are a valuable person, is that not enough?

I think its due to my attitude to life at the moment. I dont want to push myself too much. Ive been through quite a lot so far and dont want to HAVE to do anything too difficult. Im a very stubborn person.

I think doing more exercise will help (I struggle a lot in that department, lol). Also being a vegetarian may mean I dont get enough heme-iron. I think thats it, my energy levels are too low and so revision is hard. Perhaps I need to get out more and do more exercise. Perhaps that will help me get over my lack of enthusiasm for revision?

My plan I guess would be to do some cardio after my 2nd exam, and then keep moving whilst revising (not at the same time though, lol). Like do an hour of revision. Then go for a short walk outside. Then repeat? Keep the revision techniques varied as well?

I am valuable but I just want to rest, lol. I think exercise is the answer. Should also help with weight loss. Thanks TheByzantine. Anymore advice would be great.

Bit tired now, will wait till my E Business exam is over, in 5 hours, then maybe post back with an update. Dont have much hope for Business Strategy tomorrow (left it too late- I should have posted here 2 weeks ago!!) Just trying to relax now. Will have lunch in half an hour. Exam is in 2.5 hours. Next exam is 5pm tomorrow. 5pm! crazy.

Steamed broccoli, dried apricots and a glass of Orange Tropicana should give me plenty of energy for today. Was also thinking of walking in to uni???

So Ive had the first exam (out of three, second easiest). First let me just say thank you to all who have given me advice thus far. Appreciate it. Especially the supportive and helpful comments. Next is strategy tomorrow. The hardest, but I think I will follow what I did for todays exam for tomorrows. Thanks again I'll survive!!

Thanks for asking, I had the second exam. It was okay. Better than could have been. First question went well (theory) but as usually with case study questions I dont think I answered the 2nd question (case study) well But its okay. Think I'll scrape this one (exam period).

One exam left, Financial Management. 5 days till the next exam. Havent really done any revision for it yet. A lot of it is similar to a module I did last year called Business Finance, which I did well in. I also did some cardio yesterday, so I'm making progress.

I have Byzantine. Should be alright. Ive done quite a bit already and I still have 2 days left.

Im a bit concerned about another problem though. I ordered some stuff online. A 15 day free trial but I saw a website saying its a scam and all they want is your credit card details (which I provided). Ive already done the orders. I just hope I can cancel it before they charge me £££. I think its just irrational fear but thats the thing about uncertainty...... They say its money back guaranteed but??? I just have to take this as a learning experience and hope I cancel before anything bad happens. I feel like an idiot, lol.
