Everytime I try to get some sleep, when I close my eyes. I get morbid thoughts stuck in my head, which is scary. Then I wake up because the pictures are horrible to imagine. Something is wrong with me for sure? I dunno why I'm depressed but I have my reasons for it!

if you have the reasons for it, then you can figure out why you're depressed.

Hi Miss A!!!!

Sleeping problems...ARGH!!!!!!!!! I am so familier with that. There are several things that I try and for the most part it works well for me.

First, I drink chamomile tea. It is very soothing and relaxing. I drink this a little while before bed. I also, sit on my bed with my legs out straight ahead and arms to the side. I sit straight up and close my eyes. I force my mind to a peaceful, calming place. For me its the beach. But you can think of your magical place. I breathe slowly all the while thinking of my peaceful calming place. If you get distracted, dont worry, just start over. After about 10 minutes of that I will lay down. I put some very peaceful relaxing CD's on. I have rainforests CDs, Thunderstorm CD's and a mix of island sounds. I turn these on when I sleep and it helps my mind relax. It puts my focus on the sounds rather then the horrible thoughts in my head.

These are just some methods I try. Hope you get some peaceful rest soon. Take care

Beta brain waves are the cause of the yama-yama'ing that continues when we want to sleep. Try a routine before going to bed... telling the body and brain that soon it will be time to sleep. Try making a list of those things left undone, so you won't feel like you have to keep them in mind to remember them.

Meditation will help you to utilize Alpha and maybe in the future, theta brain waves... allowing you to tune out and remove those horrible thoughts that keep you from sleeping. ((I personally use a delta wave CD from my T.)

MIss A, also, increase your amount of sunshine your body gets... as little as an extra 10 minutes a day can help adjust your circadium rhythm that allows sleep at night.

I feel your pain. Sleep problems are an awful thing to deal with. I myself cant sleep without my pills by now and I wish I never started taking them in the first place.

I hope you solve your probem soon and get some much needed rest. Good luck!
