Since November of 2009 I have had an isolated lifestyle.

First I got the seasonal flu for 3 weeks, then my car battery died, then it took a week to get my car in to be repaired, then I sold this car in less than 48 hours, then went to a car dealership to pick out a new car, then waited from Dec.2nd/09 to Feb.6/10 to get my new car.

As soon as I found out my new car was ready to be picked up I was very happy and anxious at the same time.

I no longer worry about my car being broken into which is a major major bonus!

When I got my car home I started to make appointments that I had put off due to lack of transportation. I had such high hopes that I was going to get alot accomplished and feel more independant.

Then my insomnia came back and ruined my plans. I have been dealing with insomnia off and on since the spring of 2009.

The sleeping meds either don't work or they make me feel stoned and hung over in the morning till afternoon.

This may seem small but I need to be able to drive in order to get my dog's hair groomed that is in another city 15 minutes away. By taxi it would cost me $27 to and from the groomers.

I went to my doctor this morning and he gave me a prescription for new sleeping med.

I am feeling very sad and dejected right now. I feel like a total failure in life.

((((Zenn))))

Thank you for sharing that. I am sorry you are having so much trouble going to sleep. I hope that the new sleeping meds will work for you. I know that I have trouble sleeping and it is not easy to function the next day. So I do hear what you are saying.

But you are not a failure. I know you feel sad and dejected but you are not. When you finally are able to get the right meds to help you be able to sleep then you will be able to get back to a normal schedule and take care of what you have to do.

I know it is frustrating and it does make you feel those things but you are not. I do hope that you will cut yourself some slack for you are a good person who is suffering right now. Please take care of you and let us know how the new meds work. Know we are here for you and we care.

The new sleeping med. made me drift in and out of sleep. And now I feel hung over so I will have to start my day in the afternoon.

Thank-you for your support and kindness!

(((((Zen))))) Keep talking to your doc about your sleep problem. There are so many different meds to try, one of them has to work well for you. Don't give up!

But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.

With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings."

Zen,
I was told when taking sleeping aids to take them 10 hours *before* you want to get up in the morning. That way, you don't get that "hang over" effect in the morning.
I hope this helps.

Peace!
