Hi my name is Sandy and I have been dealing with depression for all of my life. I was told I was a very sad child and was later dx-ed with PTDS and now with BiPolar2 disorder. So I am dealing with the depression that is not as frequent but still there at times very strong. My husband to be is helping me as well as going to therapy and seeing my P-Dr. I became very depressed when my adoptive mom passed and went into the deepest depression and that was over 6 years ago. I still get depressed at the anniversary of her passing and I think I should have the dx of SAD as well. The reason I say this is when it goes into the different seasons I go through a mild to moderate depression. More so during the Fall and Winter seasons. I start feeling lost and empty inside. That is the only way I can explain it. Empty. But since we are now going into the Spring season I feel like there is going to be the thunderstorms I am very terrified of. But I have my rock in my husband to be. So I hope that I can make it this year through all of it.

Interesting. So, the depression flares for the seasonal transitions but retreats to "normal" (usually) for the seasons themselves, yes? Is this a long-term pattern?

It's great to know you've got a supportive companion to accompany you through the illness!

(((Polarwolf))) Lost and empty are so painful. Know that you aren't alone. It might sound kinda (very?) strange, but have you tried talking (shouting, howling wailing, whining) to the thunderstorms? Tell those suckers what they do to you, how they scare you...just an idea.
