it seems dicey to tell people you're depressed. They'll either be very understanding, or they'll tell you that youre doing it because youre getting some benefit from it. :/
Yeah I wouldnt have given your employer your blog address and it was a good idea that you changed it. I know I deleted my blog and put it on a site where I needed a password to access it.

In depression . . . faith in deliverance, in ultimate restoration, is absent. The pain is unrelenting, and what makes the condition intolerable is the...feeling felt as truth...that no remedy will come -- not in a day, an hour, a month, or a minute. . . . It is hopelessness even more than pain that crushes the soul.-William Styron |

I believe depression is included under the Americans with Disabilities Act, so to echo what has already been said, I don't think you could be fired just for that. All the same, it sounds like your boss crossed an ethical boundary when he asked you for the web address of your blog. Because of the power differential, I would imagine that it would have been really hard to say "no" to that. There was a line in your post about "making your own problems," but your boss's inappropriateness is NOT your fault.
It does sound like a dilemma now, what to do about your blog. I don't have the answer, but I'm sorry that you are going through this. Hang in there. ![]() |
