I'll get straight to the point. I need guidance. I feel blind at finding my way through life, the result being that I haven't accomplished much, either personally or professionally.
Let's say there's an ideal person, my hero. I know he exists but he's trapped in a tree; he's in and of the tree. I don't know the creases of his hands or the shape of his nose, but he is in there, perfectly defined. I have to hack and chip away the uncertain wood to reveal the him, but I must avoid destroying the him in the process. How can this be done? |

Hello & Welcome, TheBigShip!
Who is the hero you seek? Is the hero a person, book, or philosophy who will give you your needed guidance? Or, are you the hero, and you need guidance how to reach and enliven your hero-self?

Why stop at one. I have a lot of heroes
People I look up to, seek guidance from, no one person can be perfect (or even a good role model) in every area of life. If you look around you won’t see Spiderman (he is much cooler than Superman) standing there, but there are heroes all around us if we are willing to see them that way. My late grandma Alice still is my hero when it comes to dealing with adversity, nothing kept her down. Life would slam her but she would just get back up and keep going, if only I had a fraction of her inner strength. She had her faults, but she will always be one my heroes. |
