Does anyone else feel almost good in the lows... like when you get depressed you almost just want to stay there? Do I even make sense?

hz3006, I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but there have been rare instances for me when pain brings an insight that seems almost spiritual-it seems to make me more empathetic of other peoples' problems. But those moments are few and far between.

When I feel bad at least I know where I'm at. Sometimes I feel so lost, not good, not bad, just nothing, can be worse than feeling bad.

Hi there, I can relate to your comfort in the low times. Not sure what it is exactly, but just knowing where I'm at, not expecting too much from myself...sometimes it's safer there. In the past I have even tried to maintain a depressed mood, usually by listening to sad music. It's almost nice to not care sometimes, you know?

Yea I know what you mean
At least I know where I stand when I'm sad... Other times I just feel empty or lost in my feelings and I don't know where I am and what I feel

I too can feel almost comforted by feeling low - I feel that that's how I deserve to feel, that feeling better can't last because that's not how I should feel. Then I feel guilty because I'm not trying hard enough to get well and must in some way want to be depressed. It's very confusing.
