How come happiness comes and goes so quickly? I can be happy one minute, and have all happiness destroyed the next. It's very discouraging, making me think: "What's the point of working hard to enjoy life, when that enjoyment might only last a few moments?"

My life is marked by feeling either down or neutral. So feeling genuinely good is a rarity. I enjoy these times, but I wish I could make happiness stay within my clutches for a matter of hours...days...months...NOT minutes or seconds!

How does one enjoy the good times that they have, without constantly worrying about when it will all fade away?

You enjoy the moment, don't think about the future, just soak in the happieness while it lasts. If you worry abou how long the good feelings will last is a pretty sure whay to drive it away.

This could be very pessemistic and distorted, but I don't think happiness lasts. I think that's pretty much the way it is for everyone. Happiness comes and goes. Ever illusive. I think what you can hold unto is peace and joy. Joy is different than happiness. It's deep, deep down. It's not quite as bubbly, it's more of a quiet contentment. I don't know. Just my two cents worth.
I hope you find happiness and hold on to what you have.
