How come happiness comes and goes so quickly? I can be happy one minute, and have all happiness destroyed the next. It's very discouraging, making me think: "What's the point of working hard to enjoy life, when that enjoyment might only last a few moments?"
My life is marked by feeling either down or neutral. So feeling genuinely good is a rarity. I enjoy these times, but I wish I could make happiness stay within my clutches for a matter of hours...days...months...NOT minutes or seconds! ![]() How does one enjoy the good times that they have, without constantly worrying about when it will all fade away? |

You enjoy the moment, don't think about the future, just soak in the happieness while it lasts. If you worry abou how long the good feelings will last is a pretty sure whay to drive it away.

This could be very pessemistic and distorted, but I don't think happiness lasts. I think that's pretty much the way it is for everyone. Happiness comes and goes. Ever illusive. I think what you can hold unto is peace and joy. Joy is different than happiness. It's deep, deep down. It's not quite as bubbly, it's more of a quiet contentment. I don't know. Just my two cents worth.
I hope you find happiness and hold on to what you have. ![]() |
