I'm new here and just want somewhere to let it out. I spent the whole weekend pretty much in bed. This is becoming a routine on the weekends. It's so much better to be asleep. My house is a wreck and I have no motivation to do anything. It was all I could do to drag myself to work today. But I'm here nonetheless. But I have all these guilty feelings of what I shouldv'e done this weekend that didn't get done. I tell myself everyday, that I'll do it tomorrow but then the next day I'll spend it wasting away in my room. I do not want to spend my years wasting away. Am I really depressed or just lazy and having a pity party???

Hi ascarber,
Welcome to the forum... These do sound to me like symptoms of depression. No, you are not lazy. You said yourself that you had wanted to get a lot of things done. Have you been in for a check-up recently? Low motivation and feeling especially tired can be for physical or for psychological reasons. How do you feel after a short/brisk walk? Do you feel better or worse or no different? I would try the doc first and get a full blood panel and tell them how you have been feeling. You might also want to contact a psychotherapist at that time. Good luck, ascarber, try not to feel guilty or hard on yourself. Ask yourself how you really have been feeling. Does it include exhausted or overwhelmed? Let us know how you are doing... ![]() |

Welcome. Hope you feel better. I agree with the the other posts. You need a complete blood workup and physical checkup. You may be anemic.
First things first. Go to a doctor and get that checkup and let us know how you are. And, remember, you are not lazy and do not feel guilty about something (housecleaning) that is not as important as your health. ![]()

What you're really saying to yourself is "I dont want to do it."
