It is amazing how some things can set you back when things are looking good. I am just not very resilient.

I had a bike crash on my way home from work. I was on a quiet residential street when a van passed me. He said he was on the far side of the street. Wherever he was he startled the [censored] out of me and I swerved into a parked car. I scuffed the paint, broke off the mirror and went over the handlebars getting a cut and scrapes, but nothing broken. I went back later with tools and wax. I fixed the mirror and got all the scuffs off the paint. It was a brand new Mercedes! it has very tough paint. There was only a tiny ding left on the mirror and a tiny scratch on the mirror glass. The owner was a nice guy. Maybe he will not bother to file a claim. I don't know if my insurance will cover it and I hate to pay $1000 for a ding on a mirror.

Now I have a very sore joint in my hand. I guess I sprained it.

I ache all over and feeling tired and sorry for myself.

I am also having a tiff with my boss one day after patching things up with her. She is trying to pay me as little as possible for when I am on call saving the company a couple hundred dollars a years, almost as much as they cut my pay check. I told forget it. I did not want to be on call at all and she can keep all her money. I have had it and have been looking for a new job, anything.

No replies. I am just whining...

Wherever you go, there you are

I'm sorry about your accident, Kvin. That would make anyone feel anxious and down... Geez. I'm really happy that you were not seriously hurt though! Hang in there, your friend, Peanut

Glad to see you weren't seriously injured, Kv. Your poor body must be bruised all over.

All companies want to save money at the employee's expense.........I admire you telling her how you feel.

Maybe a hot shower/bath would help those muscles. Take care.

Sometimes it's okay to vent and just what we need. Don't worry about it. I understand how a day like this can make you feel. I hope tomorrow is better, and if you're looking for a new job, I hope a better one comes along soon.

Chocolate and a nice hot bath will help a little.

Okay, I tried but the picture just won't show up, so you'll have to look here: http://www.virtualchocolate.com/step2.cfm?cgy=mw&num=v1112

Glad your ok Kv. More glad the cars ok and the guy was cool. Regular car parts are expensive but a new Mercedes...well you'de probably have to sell one of the kids.

Hope you took that hot bath. It will relax those shocked muscles.

(((((KV)))))

I'm glad to know you are ok - you're a sweetie!

However, 2 wheels against 4 will lose anyday. A helmet against the entire car - which has seat belts and an air bag.

I have a motorcycle and I too love riding it. But there are just way too many idoits out there, not to mention all the good people that are out there with so much on their minds, and lets face it, sometimes we are just as guilty, of having our mind some place else instead upon the road, and we even miss cars, so it is easy to see how one can not see a motorcycle. That's why I no longer ride mine - that and that I never seem to have the time.

See that death trap sweetie, and get ya seat belts and an air bag and stay with us.

Your friend Sam (who is even now thinking about selling his)

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Kvin}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Motherly hug for you, Kvin. Whine all you want! You did more than lot of people would have done by going back and fixing the damage. Feel good about that.

So, so glad that you didn't suffer any serious injuries, but you might have that wrist looked at. You never know. bike crash

Take care of that poor body of yours. Of course, it's going to be sore! OUCH! How about another go at the hot tub... with aroma therapy thrown in? bike crash

Sam,

I was on my bicycle going about 15. It was not as bad as you would imagine had it been a motorcycle.

I think the whole thing happened because I had my mind on work and the day's tensions with my boss. The van came around me and so suddenly appeared that I turned by pure dumb reflex toward the curb and car. It really was not the van's fault.

I know that when driving a car you have to be very careful around children who can startle and behave unexpectedly. I guess the same is true around elderly people of 50.

I am such a careful driver, bike or car, and have never had a car accident. I have not had a bike accident like this since I was a kid. It is very humiliating. People were stopping to see if the addled old man was ok. A fireman stopped and insisted on checking my neurological signs, then wanted to drive me home.

Today my hand hurts and I think I sprained one or two joints so is tender to touch and move.

onward...

Wherever you go, there you are
