I have absolutely no ability to concentrate. I need to write a paper for school. I have my resources organized but I can't do anything more complicated. My brain just isn't working. Doing any analyzing is just too complicated. My brain feels like mush.

I know how that feels Googley . There have been a few times where I was where you were . Absolutley no concentration at all . Nothing but racing thoughts.
My p-doc put me on a medication to help control it.
I don't know if that is your remedy though. I would talk to your therapist or p-doc about it. Nothing worse , I know.
Good luck

Would it be helpful for you to step away from your paper for a while? Do something that you enjoy, or relaxes you, like meditation? Perhaps after focusing on an activity that isn't so dreadful, you might get your concentration back. Perhaps a small nap might even be refreshing?

I hope you are feeling better soon.
Thanks for this!

googley - we've all been there! It does suck and I'm so sorry that you are suffering right now. As Melissa said, sometimes it helps to step back and take a break, but I also know that sometimes it doesn't. The brain won't stop racing no matter what you are doing. I know I can't function when my brain does that.

Have you talked to the professor? Perhaps he/she can offer you an extension?

I wish I had a better solution, but I don't. I can listen and offer hugs though!
Thanks for this!

My brain is functioning a little better now. Being that is is now the usual hours I am up. (And 4 cans of diet coke later). It isn't so much a racing mind as a mind that can't get any thoughts through. The creation of the complex thoughts is problematic. I have until 9am on Tuesday to finish. So I'm pretty sure I will get it done. But I think it is going to be a slow an excruciating process. (especially since the guy in the library sitting behind me can't stop clearing his nose and throat.) Thanks for all your support. I just needed to vent. I hate depression!

Thank you all for the support.

((((Googley))))

Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you. Don't try to force it because that will only make it worse...haul up some visuals on the computer that are to do with your paper and it may open the channels of thought that you need to activate?

Good luck with this,

Rhiannon
