Hi
Depression has taken over my life for almost a year. I think I'm getting towards an acceptance stage (well on good days at least) so I want to share the problem with others, so they know about it and the problems it can cause. I have decided to run a session about mental health issues, focussing mainly on depression but also thinking about stress and self-esteem, with my local Rangers unit (Girlguiding group of girls aged 14-20). This group are almost all students, most of them taking public exams in their current year. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any activities or things to do? A website with some on? I think it might help me if I can talk about it, not specifically about my experiences, but depression in general. Any help would be greatly appreciated ![]() |

Hello, Claricus! I wish you the best with your group! These might get you started:
Depression by John M. Grohol, Psy.D. of PsychCentral Living with Depression (PC article) Ellen's Depression Primer (MentalHelp.net) <- possibly quite good for your group's ages National Institute of Mental Health Depression Page (US NIMH) Understanding Depression (UK NHS)

Thanks for all of them. I'll have a look through them all eventually.
