I have not been here for a long time, but used to be here often. Today I had to return to share...

By a curious series of circumstances, I came upon the concept of "mindfulness" and, within 6 months was 100% off the anti-depressant meds I have been on most of the past 40 years*.

(I am now at great risk of becoming a walking/talking informercial)

Here you can see, and try, exactly what I do in 15 minutes. This is in a talk to a clinical audience by Dr. Stuart Eisendrath, director of the UCSF Depression Center.

Here is the talk where you can see the research behind it as used in a clinical setting.

*I am still on anti-anxiety meds, but my therapist assures me there is no hurry to stop.

It's awesome this has helped you so much! I have done the Jon Kabat-Zinn inspired Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course and found it very valuable also (though I am still struggling with certain issues and I do still take an anti-depressant).

Anyhow, thanks for sharing these links!

I forgot to say that in this first video you will be led through a short mindfulness exercise where you can sample what goes on. It is, in itself, a powerful tool that can leave you feeling a refreshed mood in less time than it takes for a pill to work.
