Hi Kikki

I also have dysthymia, as well as recurrent major depression. I've been told (not sure how true it is for everybody, but seems to be true for me) that the low level dysthymia is actually harder to treat.

Have you talked to your doctor about maybe increasing your meds? Just a thought...

Hi Kiki, I have dysthymia too....But my main problem is Generalized Anxiety Disorder with Panic Attacks and specific phobias....I am also taking Zoloft 100 mg per day and it's not helping very much with my anxiety issues. My pdoc suggested I increase my dosage of Zoloft but when I tried to do that it just made my anxiety worse so I had to drop back down to 100 mg per day. Pdoc wants me to add Klonopin, but I'm very reluctant to take sedatives so I'm thinking of switching to a different medication.

What does your pdoc suggest? Are you in therapy also? It's really important to get some treatment for these issues because - as you know - they can really take over your life. Can you make another appointment to discuss different options with your doctor?

Let us know how you're doing!
