... I can feel it. The feeling of dread and anxiety in the morning is horrible. I hate it. Going to register with a GP (as Iv just moved to London). It's a bit daunting. I feel im in a big deep dark hole, but help might not...help! I want to feel normal so badly.

Hello David, just read your intro post. Studying phD in mental health, that's good going! Sorry to hear you are feeling this way though. Good luck with registering, I hope you make an appointment also. Your GP could refer you for a course of CBT, have you had any therapy yet?

Let me know how you get on and please know you can always count on us to help support you also.

hi david, welcome to pc. lots of great support here. have you considered seeing a therapist to discuss your depression? it might yield good results.
so sorry you're having a very rough time. i can certainly relate to how you are feeling. depression makes one feel helpless and hopeless. when i get it, it's like a huge truck on my chest and i too feel i'm in a void of darkness. i take meds for it and it has lessened the severity and episodes. i do have emotional triggers that can set it in motion however. working in therapy on that.

Thanks guys. Yeah I really like this site. Im not that active with it. When I need to say something, I can say it here. I'v had problems for about 2 and a half years and only now realising that it is not 'normal'/not needed.

Never been diagnosed, never treated, never seeked help. So all very new. It may take time for me to puck up the courage to make that initial step.

Thanks guys x
