Does it ever stop? I am so overwhelmed and desperate. I just need a break from all this. I have no energy left to fight the flashbacks and negative thoughts. Sometimes I think I will never be well

welcome to pc!!! to answer part of your question, when i'm severely depressed i can't seem to see out of the dark hole i'm in. everything seems doom and gloom. i have learned tho that eventually it will pass...last episode of depression lasted 2 months but that has become most unusual for me thank goodness.
please don't think you can never get well. many of us with the help of psych.,therapists, and meds have experienced great improvements in our lives.
i'm glad u found us cause we can listen and be supportive to you. just keep posting when you feel like it. that helps too!

Sometimes doing something you can succeed at is helpful. It does not necessarily matter what, although doing something you have put off is a bonus. The idea is to build confidence and discipline. Ideally, the more you do, the better you feel about yourself.

There have been times simply brushing my teeth has been a major accomplishment.

Good luck.
