Living in Alaska is probably the worst place for someone with depression....cold, dark, lonley....not to metion the worst mental health care(limited) in the nation. Would like to move....but I have a steady job, and lots of family. So for those of you who struggle with this monster...maybe some of my copping skills can help some of you with similiar circumstances. I take short walks in the winter....looking at the simple things for beauty....the way trees hold the snow, the night sky stars..the fresh air...my favorite....mountains off in the distance....beautiful....now that theres more daylight...The sun....soaking up its warm and charghing rays...the birds singing, eating from the bird feeder....and most of all knowing that summers on the way....so many wonderful colors.....green, the color of life...I hope alot of you can see these things thru your depression.....it really does help....better than any medication Iv'e been on ....remember....It does get better!

Being reminded to recognize beauty around us, in the moment, what a wonderful idea...
