I've been taking Niacin for the past 2 weeks but have not been taking them consistently. I've upped my dosage to 5k mg a day but only for the last 2 days. The theory is that you take as much as needed but there are no definitive answers as to what the limits are. Just wanted to know if any of you have had any positive effects with Niacin. I'm taking the no flush liquid version for now. I've had no side effects but will continue to monitor.

Hello, Ifeeltheweight! I personally have not found niacin to have any antidepressant benefits. Of course, I can't speak for others.

I think there's something to it... but on a whole nutrition scale so you're not lacking anything.

I think like with a medicine, it takes time to build up to a "therapeutic level" so you realize a difference. Not taking it each day is a problem... keep trying... it will eventually build up... but if you've been very depressed, then you need a higher level to feel better... so that takes longer.

Good for you to try!

Thanks!
I'll keep trying and will post something in 2 weeks or so. My grandfather died today and that brought me down. Slept a lot today. I need that Niacin to work.
