I am envious of everyone who has a special other on this day.... it makes me especially sad to think I don't have someone to send a card, or a valentine's present to.

Anyone else feel sad on this day also?

I feel more irritated. Has love been reduced to flowers with huge-***** carbon footprint, stuffed animals made in sweatshops of China, low quality chocolate in shape of heart or dinner in fully booked restaurant?

but please, do not let a commercial holiday designed to bump the sales between christmas and easter to make you sad.

I wish i had someone too. I lost my husband almost 10 years ago, and it gets lonely.

I'm sorry you feel this way, my friend. Please know that we at PC care about you.

To answer your question, I don't really want a romantic relationship so I treat this day like any other day.

I feel exactly like you. I never had anybody- not just now. And days like this are so damn hard to endure.

And what is making everything even more sad is that advertising everywhere, commercials in tv and so on just don't let you forget about it .

My suggestion is to reach out to a senior in the community. I live in a retirement community and most of the women and men here have no one either...they would love someone to make them feel better......most of the time the kids are too busy or don't give one darn. Lots of people could need some love. I know its hard on Valentine's Day but you can get through it by giving!!

p.s. I have no one either except two felines in residence!!!!

I'm alone at 40 and probably will be forever. But I don't care anymore, I'm accepting the single life, and don't let these stupid holidays bother me.

I was with my ex for 5 years and he never acknowledged Valentines or Sweetest Day because they were "stupid". Only one time, early on in our relationship, he sent me flowers at work. I was shocked at how sweet and thoughtful it was! Then the next day he told me that while I was sleeping, he snuck into my purse, took my credit card, and ordered the flowers. He said he figured I'd probably never notice it on the credit card bill when it arrived. What a romantic, huh? Freakin loser... I'm so glad he's gone!

Tonight I'm gonna snuggle on the couch with my doggies and eat candy in my sweatpants. They are the only true loves of my life. Tomorrow it will all be over with!
Thanks for this!
