So I took this little quiz that came in my e-mail. "Am I depressed" quiz. Wow, I had all the answers right for someone who is in need of professional help right away.

So my question is, where do you go or what do you do when you feel you have exhausted all of your options? I've lost all my support people, the doctor's well they are typical, here are some meds, insurance co pays are way to high and no one in my town wants to come down on the copy because they won't make any money then. Not to mention, who can you really trust when you have been abandoned by everyone that was supposed to be there to help you??

You've faced an awful lot. I'm sorry but not surprised you're struggling. As for options, it's one thing to have them, and another to have the energy and focus to exploit them.
  • In the US, you can call 2-1-1 (United Way / Alliance for Information and Referral Systems ). They're not for immediate help, but they may be able to help you figure out if there are sources of assistance you haven't considered and direct you to them.
  • Here's Ygrec23's Free and Low-Price Prescriptions information.
  • Self-help: Doc John, HelpGuide.org
I wish I had some real answers for you -- that would be a much better way for me to express my gladness at seeing you post

Many times, the MANUFACTURER of the medications will help with the costs. Sometimes, they will even provide them for FREE. If you can find their toll free number, call them and tell them what your problem is, and see what they say. It's worth a try. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

How I cope with depression,...I live with it and do all of the things that I enjoy. If you have a hobby or more you could focus on that, and make friends with people who like almost the same things as you....but you can always take your time with making new friends.
Thanks for this!

There's some great ideas, here. In the past, I've seen doctors who volunteered to give me samples of the medication, when they learned about my financial situation. They emptied their supply of samples on a regular basis for me. There are options.

Welcome to PC, and the awareness of depression. I'm so sorry you suffer, but glad you're on the first step to getting the help you need.
Thanks for this!

Thanks Rohag. It is so true on options. Thanks for them info. I will check them out. But yes, it is another thing to find the energy and focus on the options that are there. I will do my best though at getting on the stick to seeing what I can do.

Great idea Leed. I will certainly check into this. I am finding, that since I have been off my meds my back issues and fibromylasis pain has flared up big time. So, I do need to see what I can do to help this.

This is what I have been doing most of my life. I know I need more than this. But this is what I do when I have to, when no one else is around. Which is most of the time I think, since I end up pushing them all away anyways.

Thanks Lacer Vita. This is another great option for me to check into.

Thank you everyone for the ideas.
