This past month, and especially the last week or so has been especially hard on us where food is involved. I ran out of funds to get food. The last week or so I haven't been able to buy anything at all...not even toilet paper. I've had to ask my dad for a roll here and there. My boyfriend's dad brought up a bunch of meat for us to eat. But when meat is the only thing you're able to eat because it's free, it really gets a bit tiring. We haven't had anything to go with the meat...just plain meat...nothing to spice up the flavor or anything. The other day I found a box of macaroni and cheese, but didn't have any milk. So instead of using milk, I just stuck a whole stick of butter in the thing. It was ok, but a bit buttery. Mind you, I hate the taste of butter, but I ate it. I'm a bread fanatic, and was dying all week for bread. Today I was able to buy some since I got paid on the 1st but most of it went to bills. I'm just in a really tight place right now.

I know there are food banks out there, but I have no transportation to get to the food banks. So there's a big problem. My food stamps go into effect on the 5th I think so that will put food in my cupboards. I just have to hang on till then. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just me that I had to worry about feeding, but I have my boyfriend to feed, too. He eats like a horse, says we're starving, but we do have a ton of meat in the freezer. He makes me feel terrible about the whole thing...saying how good his family eats and that he's never had to "starve" himself like this. His family is rich, that's why! I come from a very poor family and can't afford all the stuff he's used to.

Lex honey, if his family is rich why do't they help you guys???
I don't get him leeching off you. Seems like he's the one with resources....... I'm confused. Starving sucks. Tomorrow's the 5th, I wish you a full fridge and cupboards (like $60 will do that........) hang in there.

Lex, doesn't your bf chip in for the bills and food? You can't shoulder that responsibility for both you and him. You need to make him pull in some funds to help pull his weight.

When you do get paid, get lots of Ramen noodles. All you need to make them is hot water.
I know, they're not the best thing to eat but they sure do fill the tummy. Get about 10 packages of them. (What is that, a buck?) Then stock it away for times like this. I have about 3 10-pack of Ramen noodles sitting in my cupboards, just in case.
You're going to have to ration out your food a lot more carefully and jump on whatever coupons and sales they have.
I just got 3 boxes of oatmeal for $3., that'll last me a good 4 weeks if not more and I bought 10 tv dinners for $10.
Right there, with the noodles, oatmeal and tv dinners, that was only $14. You'd still have $46. left over.

I guess this isn't helping your poor little belly now. I'm sorry, Lex. I use to be hungry, too. It really sucks.
I wish I could feed you through the computer.
Please, tell your bf to stop eating so darn much or he'll have to start chipping in.
