I'm falling again....this deep black pit that I can never seem to get out of. Every time I start to climb out, something sucks me back in. I'm so tired. All the progress I make seems to disappear and I end up right back where I started. I really wonder what it's like to feel "normal"

(((hugs))) to you. I have been feeling very much the same way. 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Repeat, repeat, repeat. But I refuse to fall into that black pit again! Been there twice and just refuse to let it suck me in again.

"Normal" is only a setting on your clothes washer. I truly believe there is no one in life who is normal. I will settle for feeling more positive, but I don't think I ever have been, or will be "normal".

Hang in there - don't give up.

In my opinion, progress is never destroyed, just lost temporarily. You never get sent back to the beginning because you have come so far, and even though you don't see it right now you have grown and are on the road to positive change. *hugs*

yep, 2 steps forward, 3 steps back

I had a shrink a lot of years ago and she advised that I stop making comparisons with the near past. I should look at where I am now and where I was a year ago.

I understand you SO perfectly. It's a terrible and terrifying feeling. You start to believe that things are never going to get better, but you shouldn't let that feeling get strong enough. Fight it. Don't give up. You can't give up. You have to keep moving. There is no other choice; not even if you get sucked back in each time.

I'm trying to believe this is a bump in the road and not a total breakdown. I promise I won't stop fighting...too many people need me. I guess I just feel kinda lost

First,
Second, there is no such thing as "normal". Everyone is so diverse that there is no real "normal" in society. If you're feeling this way you need to tell someone! Your therapist, pdoc, parent, guardian, friend, whoever it is make sure they can help you through it! Feel better, I'm here if you need to talk.

Thanks - I do have a wonderful therapist and doctor. They help me a great deal. Unfortunately - there are no magic wands to make these feelings disappear. I am currently and will continue to look for the light at the end of this darkness.
