My thought is it is purely rubbish! Just when they came out w/ Anti depressants which were supposed to help out...
How many people are they truly helping?

Not trying to put a damper on ya DJ....
I just tend to be skeptical because it seems whatever SELLS they will beef up.

Just passing it along...I find it encouraging that the man already has a Nobel Price (2000) for his work with neurotransmitters. It also means that he has moved one link down the chaintoward the soloution.

The way I read the article is that the functioning of this protein is what dtermines how well seratonin works, whether the brain can use it effectively...in other words, it wouldnn't matter how much seratonin is present in the synapse, if the receptors on either side of the gap cannot bind with it.

But don't listen to me...I'm just a crazy unemployed rock'n'roll bass player....not a neuro-pharmo-psycho-ologist!!!

Luv Y'all!!!

DJ,

Thank you for passing this along to us. I try to stay informed on the latest in Mental Health "breakthroughs".

Now, if they can just invent the "Happy Pill". LMAO.

Seriously though, I think that this is very incouraging news for those of us that suffer with depression. Again, thanks for posting this.

Huggles,

Jen

I saw a small article on it in the paper. It does sound an interesting bit of news. I am curious to see if the study is reproducible. Then perhaps they can find other ways to further study the this.
