That is a wonderful idea! Having been depressed all your life, it is easily possible your social skills are under-developed. This is something you could address in therapy or, better, with a real-life mentor.

Please keep posting. Several different forums here, particularly the Relationships Forum, may be of value to you.

The transition is greatand I can relate. I went from a fantastic school life where I loved and took part in sports on a daily basis, was active , fit and successful ...to a boring, sedentary pen pushingdesk job in the Civil Service. It served my mother because it was a respected , well paid , stable place to work.It couldnt have been further from where I should be.

Almost overnight ..I lost my team mates , respect, the challenge, the will to get up and get out of the house every day. Home life was volatile and miserable..School and sports was my salvation.

For five years I stuck the Civil service job ...until it became unbearably depressing. I can honestly say ..Im still reeling from the jump from childhood to adulthood and not fully dealt with the 'loss'.

Im so glad you have the insight to search for a mentor who can understand that its not easy...especially if its thrown at you or you had no real support during that time..

Hope this helps and you can move forward
