It's just another day.

I keep telling myself that tomorrow is just another day.

I have managed to arrive on Xmas Eve with only 1 Christmas card received, and no gifts from anyone except me (thank God I got myself something!).

Now, I sent out some cards, and sent gifts to my sisters, all of my nieces and nephews. Just like I'm supposed to. Did nice little things for people along the way. I got of Starbucks gift cards and gave then to retail/service folks who looked like they were having a bad time of the season. Made a special trip into work with fresh coffee beans and made lattes in one department. And, I offered to work on Xmas last minute, freeing up a co-worker to spend time with her family. Hell, at least I'll make money.

The only thing I'm getting back this season is a little bit good feelings for doing what's right, and the new DVD player I've been wanting.

Repeat after me: It's just another day. It's just another day.

I wish your efforts could be more recognized and appreciated. Its true that it is just another day, but you deserve more. I give you a pat on the back and a big hug.

I'm sorry more people don't realize what a good soul you have and how deserving you are of their time and attention. I hope the new year is kinder to you

I didn't interpret your post that way at all. You sound frustrated, and rightly so. It's not easy to give and give and receive nothing in return. If the universe was just and ordered, people would never feel the way you do. Reciprocation is a vital part of healthy relationships; feeling like your life has meaning, that others care about you, is extremely important.

I don't know what else to tell you because I'm currently residing in that same dark void of Do I Matter And Does Anyone Really Care About Me. I know it's hard. All I can tell you is that you're certainly not alone. And if I'm posting here today and coincidentally feeling the same way, there have to be thousands of others out there who are also feeling the same way right now. I hope next Christmas is better for all of us.
