Does anyone know any good resources that talk about the shaping of depressive people? Besides with just genes?

Looking at the way i was shaped into being depressive at times REALLY REALLY helps me deal with depression. So this is just the approach i am taking. Lemme know?

what I did was google google google. there are books and research articles out there about EVERY topic you can think of and more. start with a word or phrase that means something to you, and just keep going. but. masterson is a good author for this.

Notexactly what you are talking about, but I am reading a book that focus on Family of Origin traumas/abuse/ neglect and how it shapes us and leads to shame and fear based behaviors. It is Pia Mellody's book on CoDependence. Some areas may speak to you.

I have not read the book, but just saw this on another forum I read...
Highly Recommended Book ... Many of our members suffer from depression from years of being in an invalidating home environment. David Burns MD Feeling Good is the book most frequently "prescribed" by psychologists for patients undergoing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Clinical studies have shown patient improvement by just reading the book
