How do you get through your periods of depression to find the "little moments" in-between when things don't feel as bad?
I try and focus on the space between my breath, just after you inhale and before you exhale ... it helps ground me in the present moment. While in a depressive state, the present moment can be terrifying, but if you can look it in the face (by acknowledging the space in between) it breaks it into smaller, more manageable fragments... and those don't seem quite so scary. Most of the time any how... What do you do?

My mind jumps around so much it's difficult to focus on anything for long, including the darkness. But this is not a technique I've learned; a badly eroded ability to focus is part of my experience of depression.

jacq10, I love that idea, I have been trying to meditate and that fits right in. also breaking things down really helps get a handle on whats going on.
