I had a big break up about a year and a half ago. It was very hard in the begining and throughout the year, but I started to feel better little by little. From time to time, I find myself very disorganized, with lack of energy, sleep way too much. I'm loosing concentration in school and that terrifies me. There are times when I dont really want to be around anybody. I am affraid of living away from my parents, but while I'm at home I like to spend time alone. I am not eating as well. I will eat good for a while, and then I just dont get hungry. For instant, today, I have only ate a small portion of food early in the morning. I feel hungry, but nothing appetites me. I feel like there is something wrong, I just dont know what it is. Can anyone help?

Have you talked to your doctor about what you are feeling? That might be a place to start to see if your depressed.

Reaching out on here is a great first step! I am brand new here, but have found it already to be a place where people are very safe and supportive! I hope you find the support on here you are looking for. I would also wonder if you have talked to your doctor about depression and whether you are on medication or not. Peace to you.

hi, sarah81 - it sounds like it could be depression that is affecting you. it is fairly common and, frankly, it can get serious so it's best to nip it in the bud and get early treatment. is there a school counselor you can meet with? are you covered by your parents health insurance plan and, if so, does it include mental health coverage? it's VERY important to seek treatment. you can also see your primary care physician and ask them to refer you to someone. your life is important - despite how you feel about it - it is very very important. please get some treatment. it appears that you may not have bounced back from a bad relationship. a year and a half as passed though and you haven't moved on and resumed dating. your life is passing by and love is an important part of life! don't miss out!! have you spoken with your parents, a good friend or anyone else about the break up and its affect on you? please get help as soon as possible.
