I learned that my depression Isentt situational that it's going to happen for the rest of my life because of a chemical imbalance in my brain. Talk about a downer.. Well as much as it sucks I'm trying to keep my head at least above the water and look through unblinded eyes. Listen to some jack Johnson and maybe just lay down and think about nature,, sounds cheesy but hey it works.. But as much as I feel depressed now a days I always need my parents and best friiend bcs they will be what's there for me always.. And. Will never forget what they do for me.

Hi ~ I'm sorry you're feeling depressed. Are you on an antidepressant? Since you mentioned "chemical" depression, I assume you are??

I've been depressed since I was a child, so I've been on an antidepressant for YEARS. Without one, I'm in the pits!! I don't like taking medication, but I have to. It's the only way to feel "normal" (whatever that is ). It does help immensely -- and I'm glad I have it.

I wish you the very best! Take care & God bless. Hugs, Lee

Even if you have a chemical depression, changing your environment CAN have an effect on the chemicals in your brain. The most obvious thing is to exercise and get good sleep. But also -- hang out with friends, have lots of hobbies you enjoy, and a job you love. All of that DOES make a big difference, even in the case of an endogenous (chemical) depression.
