I had a really productive day at work after a week on vacation. I have tomorrow off though and nothing planned until work on Monday. I'm feeling a little lost as in I don't now what to do with myself. There is nothing on tv and I'm bored. I started reading a book, but all I wanna do is crawl in bed and go to sleep.

Not a great place for me today. Yet yesterday was awesome and I was in a great place. Maybe I'm just tired from work. Idk. It's so hot here- too hot for the gym or the pool (at my apt complex). Not even cool enough to walk the dogs. I feel so down. Idk what to do with myself or to make myself cheer up at all.

I don't even want to go to sleep bc if I do I'll never sleep later tonight- its already dinner time- too late for a nap. Help.

Hi Doggiedo! I'm still at work until 10. Maybe you could take a cool shower and put on some comfortable clothes. TVGuide.com has a list of what's on tonight - pick something and see if you like it. Maybe a comedy. Well, I hope you have a good night.

Just an Opinion: Sometimes "lazy" is your body and mind's way of telling you that
  • you need to do less, or
  • you need rest, or
  • you need to do something different.

I think it's the latter. I feel like I should be doing something...rather than just sit here and let life pass me by.

Have you got anyone where you live to go for a walk or a coffee? Some social interaction might be good.
I don't always have enough of it or get the balance right, but it's really refreshing to just have a chat for a while with some nice people, maybe go for a swim (I find that quite invigorating at the weekend) and see whether you feel like reading again.
These are just some of the things I try and they tend to work for me most of the time.

It might be that you need something else. What are your main interests, passions etc?

Oh, and my personal recommendation is yoga! It makes me feel really happy and healthy. :-)

yes! another vote for yoga, which has the plus of never messing with me ~ the way a film or book or even a friend might do innocently

I checked two local yoga studios but no classes on a Friday night. I want to walk the dogs in a bit if it ever stops raining. I like to sew but can't seem to get my act together to get the stuff out of the closet. And then when the day goes by and I haven't done anything, I think wow, just another day and I didn't do anything.

No coffee houses around me. I might try and take the doggies to the park tomorrow's- let them run around. I did go to the pool today for an hour or so. Ugh..
Thanks for this!

Going for regular walks with your dogs sounds great. I'm not a dog person myself, but I know from other people how faithful their dogs are and how they appreciate them as great companions.
I find going for a walk can clear the head and it gives you exercise and fresh air.
Being out in nature can be very therapeutic, especially now that everything is so green and you can see the flowers and blossoms.
It sounds as if you're trying to do the right things for yourself. I'm glad to hear it.

I know it doesn't always work, as sometimes it's just hard to muster the energy and initiative to do things on one's own, but I think you are on the right track.
Keep it up, Doggiedo and try to enjoy the weekend!

Sometimes, when I can't think of a single thing to do, I browse cute kitten and puppy pictures on the internet. It makes me smile and laugh, and then I feel a little better, and can find something else to do.
